Job summary

Shore Lodge Whitetail Club is seeking Landscaping Technicians to beautify the grounds and homes of our exclusive members. You will perform varied landscaping tasks, maintain beds, paths, and parking areas, and operate small machinery in a team-driven, family-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate small machinery, hand-held and walking equipment.
• Self-motivation and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks without supervision.
• A love of the outdoors and physical labor in varying weather.
• Ability to re-prioritize and move between projects as needs change.
• Basic understanding of planting/landscaping and irrigation systems.
• Strong communication skills for guest and team interaction.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent; related experience or training may be accepted.
• Hospitality or resort experience is preferred; landscaping experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform varied landscaping duties on the grounds.
• Maintain drains, blow and bag leaves, remove snow and debris.
• Prepare flower beds and perform fall/winter grounds cleanup.
• Keep pathways and parking lots clean and maintain pool areas.
• Operate utility vehicles to haul material and remove debris.
• Replace exterior lights and verify they work.
• Complete daily assignment sheets and checklists.
• Be flexible to take on new tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
• Attend staff meetings and other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

• Prepare flower beds, complete fall and winter grounds clean up
• Keep all pathways and parking lots clean, maintain pool areas to meet resort standards
• Safely operate utility vehicles for hauling material and removing debris for routine projects
• Replace exterior lights and verify working order
• Hold responsibility for completing assignment sheets/check lists daily
• Maintain flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager
• Attend staff meetings and other duties as assigned

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Ability to safely operate small machinery, hand held and walking equipment.
• Self-motivation, the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/assignments without supervision.
• A love of the outdoors and working in different types of weather, enjoying physical labor.
• Ability to re-prioritize and move between projects as needs change and pick up where you left off.
• A basic understanding planting/landscaping and irrigation systems.
• Strong communication skills for guest/member and internal team interaction.
• Possess a valid Driver’s License and clean Driving Record.
• High school diploma; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior hotel/Resort experience coupled with customer service industry background preferred.
• Previous landscaping experience also preferred.
