We’re looking for a Crew Leader for our Portage Branch that will lead a team while servicing sites throughout the Portage/Kalamazoo and Battle Creek areas.

This is NOT an entry-level position. Candidates must have at least 1 year of verifiable experience as a Landscaping Crew Leader/Foreman. Candidates with MDARD licenses and Hardscapes experience will be prioritized.

Starting rate or minimum rate of pay is $17 per hour, with potential increases based on experience and certifications/licenses.

Minimum Requirements of the Role:

• Valid Driver's License: Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Chauffeur’s Endorsement: A chauffeur’s endorsement or license is REQUIRED, and preferred candidates already hold one. Candidates willing to obtain one prior to starting will be considered.
• Previous experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Landscaping Crew Leader.
• DDOT Medical Card: Preferred candidates already have one; if not, you must pass a medical exam including a drug test prior to starting.
• State of MI (MDARD) Pesticide licenses: Preferred candidates already hold licenses and are willing to maintain and possibly add more.
• Irrigation Experience: Preferred candidates have troubleshooting and repair experience, and are willing to assist with start-up and shutdown tasks.
• Hardscapes Experience: Preferred.

Lead 2-5 team members, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Oversee crews across various service lines including maintenance, installation, irrigation, seasonal color, and chemical applications.

Responsibilities include:

• Performance & Quality: Oversee daily operations, delegate work, maintain schedules, meet service expectations, and identify efficiencies.
• Client Satisfaction: Address client concerns proactively with the Production Manager.
• Crew Management: Provide feedback, assist in training, and submit accurate time logs.
• Safety: Ensure safe work practices, equipment maintenance, and proper logging.
