Job summary

BrightView is seeking a Landscaper I to provide landscape maintenance support for industrial, commercial, and public properties. This role performs basic tasks with supervision and supports the safe operation of commercial landscaping equipment as well as upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements.

Responsibilities include mowing, edging, pruning, planting, weed control, and basic equipment upkeep. Candidates should be at least 18, reliable, and capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and dependable.
• Ability to safely operate equipment such as power saws and cutters.
• Familiar with basic horticultural maintenance operations/practices.
• Certified on level 1 equipment (backpack blower, stick edger, string trimmer, walk-behind mower).

Responsibilities

• Cut turf using power mowers, trim and edge with gas-powered edger/trimmer, and blow leaves and debris.
• Prune shrubs and low trees to improve shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches.
• Plant and maintain flowerbeds.
• Operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects.
• Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris onto the turf before mowing.
• Mulch leaves and organic matter when mowing.
• Perform weeding by hand or with a garden hoe or hulahoe.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance to extend equipment life.
• Properly remove trash, dead plants, and suckers from landscape.
• Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with guests and customers.
• Report unsafe conditions to Crew Leader or Production Manager.
