Job summary

Texan Lawn Care is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Landscaper/Groundskeeper to join our growing Central Texas team. The role involves year-round maintenance of ranch, event venues, vacation rentals, and residential properties across Leander, Austin, Del Valle, and Fredericksburg, with travel between sites.

Compensation ranges from $22 to $24 hourly. The company provides a truck, trailer, fuel, mower, tools, and equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous landscaping/groundskeeping experience preferred.
• Experience operating a zero-turn mower and common landscaping equipment.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Mow and maintain residential and large-acreage properties.
• Weed-eat, edge, blow, trim, and maintain landscaped areas.
• Control weeds and sticker burrs.
• Maintain flower beds and landscaped areas.
• Clear brush and overgrown vegetation.
• Perform light tree trimming and remove fallen limbs and debris.
• Complete seasonal planting, seeding, and property improvement projects.
• Prepare and maintain wildlife food plots.
• Perform pest treatments for fire ants and general grounds.
• Inspect fences and report maintenance concerns.

About this position

Texan Lawn Care is looking for a dependable, self-motivated Landscaper / Groundskeeper to join our growing company.

This is a full-time, year-round position maintaining a unique portfolio of ranch, event venue, vacation rental, and residential properties throughout Central Texas. Our primary properties are located in Leander, Austin, Del Valle, and Fredericksburg.

This is not a typical landscaping crew position. Much of the work will be performed independently, so we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can manage their day without constant supervision, and notices what needs attention before being asked.

The work changes throughout the year. During the growing season, the focus will be mowing and landscape maintenance. During slower periods, projects may include brush clearing, tree work, wildlife food plots, property improvements, and other grounds maintenance.

Compensation

$22 - $24 hourly

Responsibilities

• Mow and maintain residential and large-acreage properties
• Weed-eat, edge, blow, trim, and maintain landscaped areas
• Control weeds and sticker burrs
• Maintain flower beds and landscaped areas
• Clear brush, cedar, and overgrown vegetation
• Perform light tree trimming and remove fallen limbs and debris
• Complete seasonal planting, seeding, and property improvement projects
• Prepare and maintain wildlife food plots
• Perform fire ant and general grounds pest treatments
• Inspect fences and gates and report maintenance concerns
• Identify irrigation, landscaping, tree, drainage, and other property issues
• Keep properties clean, attractive, and ready for owners and guests
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain mowers, tools, vehicles, and equipment
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on landscaping equipment
• Assist with other outdoor property and grounds projects as needed
• Travel regularly between properties in Leander, Austin, Del Valle, and Fredericksburg

Qualifications

• Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, ranch maintenance, or similar outdoor work experience preferred
• Experience operating a zero-turn mower and common landscaping equipment
• Comfortable driving a pickup truck and towing a landscaping trailer
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work consistently without close supervision
• Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
• Able to recognize problems and take initiative rather than waiting to be told every task
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in Central Texas weather
• Physically capable of performing landscaping and grounds maintenance work, including lifting, bending, walking, and working on uneven terrain
• Willing and able to travel regularly between our Central Texas properties
• Able to safely and responsibly care for company vehicles, tools, and equipment

Experience operating tractors, skid steers, chainsaws, or other equipment, as well as experience with brush clearing, irrigation, ranch maintenance, or wildlife habitat management, is a plus.
