Job summary

Hotel Yountville seeks a part-time maintenance technician to service a luxury boutique hotel in California. You will handle HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler systems and kitchen equipment, reading blueprints and performing repairs as needed.

Strong communication, self-initiative and experience in hotel maintenance are essential. This role supports wine country hospitality with hands-on engineering in a historic setting.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel engineering experience required.
• Vocational training or degree in relevant fields; state licensure where required.
• Understand and operate HVAC, electrical, plumbing and boiler systems.
• Read blueprints and schematics; interpret parts breakdowns.
• Good verbal and written communication; self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls within thirty minutes of receipt.
• Diagnose defects and troubleshoot malfunctions; take corrective action.
• Perform repair, maintenance, alteration and installation work per procedures.
• Comply with applicable codes and regulations at all levels.
• Coordinate with other departments (electrician, carpenter, painter, night engineer).

Job Description

Hourly Pay Rate: $23.00

What you will be doing

• Respond to all service calls within half hour from time call is received.
• Determine defects, trouble-shoot malfunctions, take immediate necessary corrective action if guest related/top priority or scheduled for completion within 2 days and record same on the departmental work order form.
• Follow specific departmental procedures in efficiently performing repair, maintenance, alteration and installation work.
• Comply with the latest local, county, state and federal governmental codes, laws and requirements.
• Coordinate with other department personnel such as electrician, carpenter, painter and night engineer in completing service, replacement, alteration and new installation work.

What we are looking for

• Previous hotel engineering experience required, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and general building construction
• Vocational training, associate's degree, certification and/or apprenticeship in one or more area; state certification or licensure where required
• Understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler systems.
• Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings and technical parts breakdown.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• High work ethic and self-initiative
