Job summary

Melwood in Greenbelt, MD is seeking a Mower Tractor Operator. This full-time role offers $21.00 per hour, with overtime eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package including employer-paid health coverage. Core hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

The position requires passing a background check, drug screening, and ability to obtain a government security clearance. Work is outdoors, with routine tractor operation.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years tractor experience, preferably grounds-related.
• Clean driving record.
• Experience with pesticides is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operate full-size tractors with attachments (front-end loader, riding mowers, broadcast spreaders).
• Apply lime, fertilizer, grass seed, herbicides, and pesticides using a tractor-mounted spreader.
• Perform large-scale mowing and maintenance of tractors and equipment.
• Report abnormalities in trees, shrubs, and grass.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tractors and attachments.
• Report needed repairs/maintenance for tractors.
• Plow snow as needed.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Maintain lawn per contract specifications.
