Job summary

Summerhill Associates is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with 2–4 years of experience in landscape construction or project management to support high-end landscape projects from preconstruction through completion.

Responsibilities include coordinating with subcontractors, maintaining schedules and budgets, and ensuring quality across all project phases. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with a relevant degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional experience in landscape construction, project management, or related field.
• Working knowledge of landscape construction methods, materials, and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and plans.
• Experience with field measurements, take-offs, project budgets, and scheduling.
• Ability to collaborate with, oversee, and coordinate internal labor and subcontractors.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with designers, project managers, and field personnel.
• Ownership and accountability.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but relevant experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform site inventories, field measurements, and other site evaluations.
• Support document control and uploading changes to design and as-builts.
• Support preconstruction plan related to procurement, logistics, and schedule management.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and clients to align work with schedule and budget.
• Update weekly schedule and produce Look Ahead Schedules.
• Oversee day-to-day project execution and document progress with site reports.
• Manage project scope and budget, report deviations, and develop change orders.
• Coordinate information between office and field operations.
• Ensure best practices across all project phases.
• Drive punch-list completion to meet quality standards.
