Job summary

Russo Hardware, Inc. is seeking a Service Landscape Mechanic in Frankfort, IL to diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines and power equipment. The role requires 1–3 years of hands-on experience in small engine repair and comfort with a variety of shop tools and diagnostic systems.

The position offers full-time, hourly pay with benefits, including paid time off, paid vacation, and opportunities for training and advancement. Good customer communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Service Mechanic, Equipment Technician, or similar role preferred.
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience in small engine repair or related field
• Forklift operation experience is a plus – certification provided

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair small engines (2-stroke and 4-stroke)
• Perform routine maintenance and tune-ups
• Order and install replacement parts
• Maintain shop organization, cleanliness, and safe working conditions.
• Provide excellent customer service and explain repairs clearly
• Uphold a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the mechanic team.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
