Qualifications

• Operate small equipment such as walk-behind mowers, blowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers and edgers.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored properly.
• Always follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with crew members and follow direction from Senior Crew Supervisors.
• Provide respectful service when working near funeral services and visiting families.
• Notifying crew supervisor immediately of unsafe working conditions or practices observed in the area.

Job Summary

The Landscape Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining cemetery grounds to ensure a clean, respectful, and well-manicured environment for visitors and families. This role requires experience operating small landscaping equipment and working in a cemetery setting with professionalism, attention to detail, and sensitivity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, planting, and debris removal
• Operate small equipment such as walk-behind mowers, blowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers and edgers
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored properly
• Always follow safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
• Work collaboratively with crew members and follow direction from Senior Crew Supervisors
• Provide respectful service when working near funeral services and visiting families
• Notifying crew supervisor immediately of unsafe working conditions or practices observed in the area

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in a cemetery, park, or large landscaped property preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Professional demeanor and sensitivity to cemetery operations

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods standing, walking, stretching, bending, climbing ladders, kneeling, pulling and repetitive tasks
• Must be physically able to operate power equipment
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and uneven ground and landscape slopes.
• Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
