Job summary

Rexius in Bend, Oregon seeks a Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead to organize and guide a dedicated crew delivering high-end residential and commercial landscapes. You will lead by example, plan efficiently, and ensure safety and quality on every site.

You will inspect vehicles with Whip Around, operate one-ton trucks and trailers, develop site plans, coach crew members, and maintain punctual, reliable attendance while upholding Rexius standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum field experience.
• Knowledge of horticultural principles including planting, pruning, and plant and noxious weed identification.
• Ability to operate and coach proper use of power equipment and vehicles as described in the duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and support your crew in taking ownership of routes and projects.
• Perform a nine-point inspection of your assigned company vehicle using the Whip Around application.
• Operate and transport one ton company vehicles and trailers to and from job sites.
• Identify, document, and communicate vehicle and equipment repair needs using the Whip Around application or tag-out system.
• Develop site-specific plans to efficiently complete seasonal landscape maintenance work.
• Train and coach crew members on techniques, safety procedures, and job expectations.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors about landscape or irrigation issues and crew-related matters.
• Maintain reliable, punctual attendance and set the standard for your crew.

Job description

Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead, organizes and guides a dedicated crew while delivering high quality landscape maintenance for high end residential and preferred commercial properties. This position must lead by example, plan efficiently, and help their team succeed - every day, on every site.

• Lead, motivate, and support your crew in taking ownership of assigned routes and projects, and job sites
• Perform a nine-point inspection of your assigned company vehicle using the Whip Around application
• Operate and transport one ton company vehicles and trailers to and from job sites with the ability to maneuver and back up in tight spaces safely
• Identify, document, and communicate vehicle and equipment repair needs using the Whip Around application or tool tag-out system
• Develop site-specific plans to efficiently complete seasonal landscape maintenance work
• Train and coach crew members on proper techniques, safety procedures, and job expectations
• Communicate clearly and promptly with supervisors when landscape or irrigation issues arise
• Communicate effectively with supervisors when crew-related issues arise
• Maintain reliable, consistent, and punctual attendance - you set the standard for your crew

• Proficiency in using and coaching proper operation of power equipment including push mowers, ride on mowers, edgers, blowers, string trimmers, pole shears, and chainsaws
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather, including snow
• Ability to work 10–12 hour days during peak seasons
• Knowledge of OR-OSHA regulations and current safety standards
• Ability to communicate in English to ensure customer needs are understood and safety requirements are clearly followed

Experience

• 2 years minimum of field experience.

Special Requirements/Certifications/Licenses:

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• May be required to lift, up to 50 lbs. consistently
• Hand-eye coordination and hand, arm, and finger mobility for detailed work with objects.
• Active movement throughout the day: sitting, walking, standing, squatting, bending, stooping, reaching, etc. (not a sedentary position).
• Vision: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Hearing: able to satisfactorily communicate with customers, owners, and other staff members to ensure that verbal communication is clearly understood, particularly during emergency situations.
• Finger dexterity is needed for pruning and power tool proficiency
• Exposure to moderate noise levels.
• Exposure to changing weather and temperature
• Exposure to fast‑paced, high-pressure environments.
