Kids for the Future in Jurupa Valley, CA is seeking a Landscape Laborer to maintain medians and rights-of-way. You will operate mowers, string trimmers, and edger tools and perform basic maintenance on equipment.

• Works with mechanics to improve maintenance schedules.
• Ensures equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance.

• Base Pay $20.00 - $21.00 / Year

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Landscape Laborer is responsible for performing work involved in median and ROW work. You must know how to operate small power tools and mowers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates mowers for common areas, natives and operates string trimmers and stick edger’s for trimming around trees, fence lines, banks, and hillsides; edges and blow walk paths;
• Spot spray weeds under the direct supervision of a certified applicator.
• Helps in project work; lays sod, seeds, renovations,
• Develop, nurture, and sustain collaborative working relationships with all management and staff.
• Works with mechanics to continue to improve maintenance schedules and systems.
• Ensures all equipment systems are working properly before using equipment in the field.
• Refills fuel and oil daily of machines used.
• Cleans equipment daily and reports problems or failures to Manager immediately.
• Provides basic preventative maintenance on equipment as directed by the Manager.
• Work with Supervisor to continue to improve maintenance schedules and systems.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS:

• General understanding of landscaping.
• A positive attitude, who thrives on challenges, leads by example, and readily adapts in a competitive environment.
• Spanish speaking is a plus but is not required.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Requires the ability to sit or stand for potentially long periods of time throughout the workday.
