Qualifications

• Three months of landscape maintenance or closely related experience.
• Possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Driver's License.
• Preferences: Broward County Tree Trimmer License or Certificate; Certification in grounds-keeping, landscaping technology or closely related field; Certified Irrigation Technician; State of Florida Commercial Fertilizer Applicator license; State of Florida Pesticide Applicator License - Lawn, Ornamental or Landscape Maintenance; Master Gardener 6+ months.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass; plants and transplants shrubs; fertilizes lawn and plants; trims bushes and trees; sprays lawns and shrubs to control insects, diseases, and pests.
• Uses standard gardening tools in maintenance work; performs irrigation system maintenance and repairs; waters plants manually, as required.
• Operates power mowers, trimmers, sprayers, chain saws, and other tools; maintains equipment in good working condition.
• Rakes and removes grass cuttings and leaves; sweeps adjacent streets and walkways; loads and unloads soil, sand, sod, rock, gravel and other ground covering materials.
• Supervises the activities of subordinate workers assigned to assist in the performance of gardening and grounds keeping.
• Performs related work as assigned.
