Job summary

University of Florida on the Main Campus in Gainesville is seeking a Groundskeeper II to maintain turf and landscapes. You will operate commercial zero-turn mowers and large farm-type tractors, perform grounds tasks, and drive state vehicles with a Class E license. Responsibilities include equipment safety checks and assisting the mechanic.

Normal hours are 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday; position is essential personnel.

Qualifications

• Completion of ninth grade and one year of relevant experience.
• Florida Class E driver’s license required.
• GI-BMP Certification must be obtained within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs turf mowing on commercial zero-turn mowers.
• Operates large farm-type tractors with implements used in turf and landscape maintenance.
• Performs grounds maintenance tasks in assigned areas.
• Drives state vehicles requiring a Class E license.
• Performs and documents equipment safety checks.
• Assists mechanic in servicing assigned equipment.
