Job summary

Durango School District 9-R is hiring a Landscape and Grounds Maintenance position for a 12-month, full-time role, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Benefits include life, health, dental insurance, paid sick, personal, and annual leave. Begins 09/14/2026.

A $1800 signing bonus is available for staff starting by October 1, 2026, pro-rated for late starts. Workforce housing is available for the 2026/2027 year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Colorado driver's license.
• Criminal Background Check required for hire.
• Ability to perform physical outdoor tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Mow, edge, aerate lawns and border areas.
• Prune shrubs and trees up to 15 feet.
• Operate and maintain grounds equipment.
• Assist with irrigation systems and repairs.
• Snow removal during winter.
• Support custodial department duties.
