Job summary

Overview

TPC Southwind is a private par-70, 7,244-yard layout located in the gated community of Southwind in Southeast Memphis, Tennessee. TPC Southwind is home of the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The facility features a modern-style, 34,000 square-foot clubhouse and serves as a backdrop for social, private, and corporate events. The Landscape Foreman is a key position that requires a solid understanding of all landscape operations within the Golf Course Maintenance Department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties and tasks related to the Landscape Gardener I, II, III, and IV positions.
  • Maintain logs for operation, maintenance, and fuel usage of each landscape piece of equipment.
  • Clean and inspect old landscape equipment after use and report deficiencies to the Equipment Manager.
  • Train Landscape Gardeners to perform tasks associated with landscape operations of the Golf Course Maintenance department.
  • Assist in managing daily landscape operations.
  • Establish and maintain records for the landscape management plan for the year.
  • Establish and maintain inventory records for all landscape equipment and materials.
  • Keep all landscape application equipment calibrated and in good working condition.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local regulations regarding landscape care product use, storage, cleaning, disposal, equipment containment, and safety.
  • Read, understand, and interpret MSDS for all landscape care products.
  • Contribute to the organization and cleanliness of landscape operations equipment and the maintenance facility.
  • Monitor and control expenses within the constraints of the budget.
  • Communicate regularly via a two-way radio system.
Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of landscape management as would be acquired through secondary education, two or three years of college-level study, trades training, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Have a valid certified applicator’s license registered in the same state.
  • Be 18 years old and able to operate a motor vehicle.
Physical Demands and Working Environment

Exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. The position is very active and requires lifting, pulling, or pushing up to 50 pounds, and moving items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Compliance with applicable safety and health regulations is essential. The description reflects essential functions and may be modified as needed.

Travel and Work Schedule

Travel is not expected for this position. Shifts are required as necessary based on business levels.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is a team lead.
