Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties and tasks relative to the Application Technician position.
  • Maintain logs for operation, maintenance, and gas usage of each piece of application equipment.
  • Inspect all equipment and report deficiencies to the Equipment Manager.
  • Record and maintain product application records, labels, and MSDS sheets.
  • Establish and maintain inventory levels of all turf-care products.
  • Calibrate and maintain all application equipment in good working condition.
  • Follow regulations for product use, storage, cleanup, disposal, spill containment, mixing, loading, application and safety.
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.

Job description

TPC Southwind is a private par-70, 7,244-yard layout located in the gated community of Southwind in Southeast Memphis, Tennessee. It hosts the FedEx St. Jude Championship and features a modern-style 34,000 square‑foot clubhouse.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Thorough knowledge of golf course operations, practices and procedures acquired through 2–3 years of progressively responsible maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of golf‑course operations necessary for storage, mixing and application of pesticides and fertilizers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform all duties and tasks relative to the Application Technician position.
  • Hold a valid Certified Applicator’s License registered in the same state as the golf course.
  • Maintain logs for operation, maintenance, and gas usage of each piece of application equipment.
  • Perform daily facility upkeep: keep the maintenance facility clean, organized and safe.
  • Clean application equipment after each use.
  • Inspect all equipment and report deficiencies to the Equipment Manager.
  • Execute all application activities as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations or the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent(s).
  • Record and maintain product application records, labels, and MSDS sheets.
  • Establish and maintain inventory levels of all turf‑care products.
  • Calibrate and maintain all application equipment in good working condition.
  • Follow federal, state and local regulations for product use, storage, cleanup, disposal, spill containment, mixing, loading, application and safety.
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures.
  • Read, understand and interpret product labels and material safety data sheets.
  • Ensure staff assisting with application wear appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment.
  • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Tasks require standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, using hands, and speaking or hearing. The employee must lift or move up to 25 pounds, and may need to lift, pull or push items up to or over 50 pounds with awkward weights. Performance of these duties requires clear vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. All tasks must comply with applicable safety and health regulations.

TRAVEL

Travel is not expected for this position.

WORK SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

This position requires shifts as necessary based on business levels.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Position is a team lead role within the golf course maintenance operations.
