The Landscape Foreman is a working field leader responsible for crew performance, job execution, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role combines hands‑on landscape work with leadership accountability and is directly responsible for delivering projects on time, on budget, and to DLL’s quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Development
- Provide clear daily direction to assigned crew members
- Train employees on proper equipment operation, safety protocols, and company standards
- Monitor performance and provide real‑time coaching and feedback
- Hold crew accountable for productivity, quality, punctuality, safety, and professionalism
- Provide performance feedback to Production Manager
Daily Operations Management
- Conduct daily morning huddles to review schedule and job priorities
- Time estimates and productivity goals
- Customer expectations and feedback
- Execute and oversee landscape maintenance services including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and enhancements
- Ensure work is completed correctly the first time ("no go‑backs")
- Conduct routine site inspections to verify quality standards
- Identify enhancement opportunities and communicate recommendations
Productivity & Accountability
- Manage labor hours to meet or exceed weekly crew productivity goals
- Adjust workflow as needed to maintain efficiency
- Ensure all crew members accurately clock in/out and record breaks in LMN
- Communicate workload changes to Production Manager promptly
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all company safety policies and procedures
- Identify and correct job‑site hazards immediately
- Ensure proper use of PPE and required company attire
- Require seatbelt use and compliance with all motor vehicle laws
- Promote a safety‑first culture at all times
Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as on‑site point of contact when needed
- Greet customers professionally and address concerns promptly
- Escalate service issues to Production Manager before leaving the site
- Document customer issues or notes in LMN
Equipment & Resource Management
- Train crew on proper equipment usage to reduce wear and unnecessary repairs
- Ensure efficient use of materials and supplies
- Communicate supply and repair needs to Production Manager
