Job summary

Stephens Landscaping Professionals is seeking an Estimator to develop accurate, profitable estimates for landscape construction projects. You will collaborate with designers, sales, account managers, and project managers to translate concepts into clear scopes, costs, and proposals.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in landscape estimating, strong knowledge of cost components, and proficiency with estimating software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of landscape construction estimating experience.
• Knowledge of labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor pricing, production rates and cost controls.
• Experience reviewing landscape plans, specs and scopes of work.
• Ability to collaborate with designers, sales, PMs, vendors and subcontractors.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate estimates, cost breakdowns and proposals.
• Strong negotiation skills for obtaining competitive pricing.
• Proficiency with estimating software; Aspire preferred; LMN/Bluebeam/Procore/PlanSwift valuable.
• Bachelor’s degree in CM/LA/Engineering/Business or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with designers, sales, PMs and account managers to understand client goals and scope.
• Review concepts, plans, specs, and site conditions to identify pricing needs and scope gaps.
• Perform and track plan takeoffs for accurate estimating.
• Procure subcontractor and specialty material quotes as needed.
• Support proposal development with detailed cost breakdowns and clarifications.
• Participate in handoff meetings to align PMs and production teams on estimates and budget.
• Maintain estimating data, pricing history and vendor/subcontractor information.
• Recommend value-engineering options to align scope with client budgets.
