Job description

THE POSITION

We are seeking a creative and experienced Landscape Designer (Project Manager) to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee and design landscape projects across multiple locations within the Texas and Oklahoma region, ensuring that all designs meet aesthetic, functional, and sustainability goals. This role involves working closely with customers and internal branch teams to deliver innovative and high-quality landscape designs that enhance outdoor spaces.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Design Development:
  • Create and develop landscape design concepts for commercial, industrial and public spaces.
  • Produce detailed drawings, plans, and renderings using CAD software and other design tools.
  • Incorporate local flora, climate considerations, and sustainable design practices into projects.
Project Management:
  • Oversee the design process from initial concept to final implementation.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, budget, and project goals.
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and standards are met.
Site Analysis & Planning:
  • Conduct site analysis to assess soil conditions, drainage, topography, and existing vegetation.
  • Develop site plans that address functionality, aesthetics, and environmental impact.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with regional teams, including architects, engineers, and horticulturists, to ensure cohesive designs.
  • Present designs to clients, stakeholders, and regional committees for approval.
Sustainability & Innovation:
  • Integrate eco-friendly practices such as water conservation, native plant use, and energy-efficient lighting into designs.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in landscape architecture.
Compliance & Regulations:
  • Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for permits and approvals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in landscape design, with a portfolio showcasing a variety of project types (residential, commercial, public spaces).
  • Professional licensure (PLA) or certification by a relevant professional body, preferred.
  • Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS mapping tools.
  • Strong understanding of horticulture, site grading, and construction materials.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and creativity.
