Green Grass Landscape in the Chicago area is seeking a landscape designer/landscape architect for the in-office design team. You will develop residential designs from concept through construction documents, working with sales, design, and production to meet client goals.

You will research codes, specify plants and hardscape, prepare site plans and 3D visualizations, and produce construction documents. This role emphasizes independent work and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of residential landscape design/landscape architecture experience.
• Degree or significant coursework in Landscape Architecture or related field.
• Experience with Dynascape Design or AutoCAD and SketchUp or other 3D tools.
• Adobe Suite experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Eye for design, attention to detail, curiosity about plants and outdoor spaces.
• Registered Landscape Architect is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales to create designs aligned with client goals.

We are looking to add a landscape designer/landscape architect to our design build team. This is a full-time, in-office position. This position does not involve sales work. Field work is as needed to support the team or to clarify design data and documents.

Position Overview

We are seeking a landscape designer/ landscape architect to join our design team, working alongside our experienced sales, design, and production teams. In this role you will develop residential landscape designs, from initial concept through construction documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with sales team to create landscape designs that align with client goals and project objectives
• Research Municipal Codes as needed
• Research and recommend plant materials, hardscape elements, and other landscape features
• Prepare estimates and obtain subcontractor quotes
• Prepare site plans, scaled drawings, and 3D visualizations to communicate design concepts to clients and internal teams
• Prepare construction documents, including technical drawings and specifications.
• Prepare permit drawings and documents as required
• Coordinate with sales, pre-construction, and project managers to keep projects moving smoothly as needed
• You should possess the ability to work independently with excellent time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks to ensure that deadlines are met

What We’re Looking For

• 5 – 10 years of experience in residential landscape design or landscape architecture.
• Degree or significant coursework in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or a related field
• Experience with Dynascape Design or AutoCAD, and SketchUp, or other 3D tools
• Experience with Adobe Suite is a plus
• Excellent hand graphics and rendering are a plus
• Familiarity with professional estimating software. Experience with Aspire a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Eye for design, attention to detail, and curiosity about plants and outdoor spaces
• Registered Landscape Architect is a plus

Competitive salary based on experience and skills. $75,000-$120,000
