The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of urban parks maintenance on City property and complete tasks as assigned by Park Supervisors and field staff. Performs other duties as required. Position is seasonal and for the duration of the summer.
Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of properties and parks. May include:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to perform a wide range of physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to work hours that are flexible and include weekends and evenings.
Ability to evaluate conditions in assigned area and make judgments related to safety.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history.
Ability to keep accurate records, organize information, supplies and equipment, and follow established procedures.
Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.
Ability to operate riding mowers, tractors, trucks, trailers, and other landscape equipment.
Ability to provide information and instruction to individuals and groups.
Ability to work alone under general supervision.
