$16.25 - $22.75

Generally, the hiring range is from the minimum up to 80% of the range. This is a full-time hourly position.

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of urban parks maintenance on City property and complete tasks as assigned by Park Supervisors and field staff. Performs other duties as required. Position is seasonal and for the duration of the summer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists in the cleaning and maintenance of properties and parks. May include:

  1. Preparing areas for rentals/events
  2. Turf maintenance
  3. Hardscape cleaning and maintenance
  4. Horticulture maintenance
  5. Waste and litter removal
  6. Snow removal as needed
Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Ability to perform a wide range of physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment under a variety of weather conditions.

Ability to work hours that are flexible and include weekends and evenings.

Ability to evaluate conditions in assigned area and make judgments related to safety.

Ability to provide excellent customer service.

Valid Driver's License and ability to maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Have and maintain acceptable background information, including criminal conviction history.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to keep accurate records, organize information, supplies and equipment, and follow established procedures.

Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools.

Ability to operate riding mowers, tractors, trucks, trailers, and other landscape equipment.

Ability to provide information and instruction to individuals and groups.

Ability to work alone under general supervision.

Working Conditions and Requirements
Physical Demands
  • Ability to perform a wide range of strenuous physical and manual tasks in an outdoor environment. Physical ability to stand, walk, and kneel. Able to use a variety of long-handled, manual, and power tools; and to operate equipment while working in and around moving traffic. Upper body strength to lift up to 40 pounds on a daily basis and over 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities that permit the employee to communicate effectively in person.
  • Frequently works outside with exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Works in a setting subject to continuous interruptions and background noises.
