Job summary

American Landscaping Partners in Brentwood, TN is seeking a Landscape Crew Leader to supervise field crews and ensure quality and safety on job sites.

  • Submit daily work order documentation to operations leadership
  • Read blueprints to delegate activities as needed
  • Maintain safe and clean work sites and proper equipment care
  • Promote safety and environmental practices
  • Provide feedback to crew members and assist in training

Landscape Crew Leader – Brentwood, TN
Position Overview

Ensures the technicians complete tasks effectively and efficiently by maintaining detailed daily customer job records including labor hours, equipment, and materials used on each work ticket.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management
  • Ensures that the tools and equipment needed are loaded on the trucks prior to departure to the job site.
  • Manages the loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the morning and evening.
  • Supervises the work of technicians onsite and delegates job tasks in a manner that ensures proper safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Oversees all work tickets and ensures completion in accordance with the schedule.
  • Inspects all work tickets completed for quality to eliminate the need for return visits and/or re-work due to poor quality or client satisfaction issues.
  • Ensures that all work activities are carried out in a safe manner, including compliance with government and company Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE") standards.
  • Maintains and enforces standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas.
  • Submits accurate, completed, work order documents to the operations leadership at the end of each workday.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and structural drawings to delegate work activities as necessary.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work site including proper maintenance and care of all company equipment.
Team Management
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Communicates with the operation leadership regarding crew members including both positive and negative feedback.
  • Oversees employee training and development.
  • Position may perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education, Knowledge and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years landscape industry experience required.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of leadership experience preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks.
  • Knowledge of all phases of landscaping projects.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and mentor crew members.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail in all responsibilities and duties.

  • Extended work hours during peak seasons.
  • Requires substantial physical activity performing strenuous activities of a productive and technical nature; regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions of extreme heat and extreme cold; consistent exposure to loud noise; potential exposure to air pollution, allergens, dust, pollen, insects, and other potentially harmful naturally occurring hazards; continuous exposure to moving mechanical parts and sharp objects.
