The ideal candidate has 5+ years in landscape construction, can supervise crews, and is comfortable using equipment such as skid steers and mini excavators.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in landscape construction or equivalent fieldwork.
• Proven experience leading or assisting with crew supervision on job sites.
• Ability to operate small construction equipment is required.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and actively participate in landscape construction projects (patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor living features).
• Supervise and coordinate crew members on site to ensure quality and timelines.
• Operate equipment such as skid steers and mini excavators.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and to company standards.

Position Overview

Lakeland Landscaping is seeking an experienced Landscape Construction Foreman to lead and work alongside our field crews on high-end residential landscape and hardscape projects throughout Morris County and surrounding areas.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a motivated professional who takes pride in craftsmanship, efficiency, and delivering exceptional outdoor environments. The ideal candidate has strong field experience, can operate construction equipment, and is confident managing crews while maintaining project quality and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and actively participate in landscape construction projects including:
  • Patios, walkways, retaining walls, and outdoor living features
  • Grading, drainage, and site preparation
  • Planting, lawn installation, and finishing work
• Supervise and coordinate crew members on-site
• Operate equipment such as skid steers and mini excavators (track hoes)
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule and to company standards
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site
• Communicate effectively with management and team members
• Assist with material planning, site layout, and daily job execution

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in landscape construction
• Proven experience leading or assisting with crew supervision
• Ability to operate small construction equipment (required)
• Valid driver’s license (CDL is a strong plus)
• Strong knowledge of hardscaping, grading, and drainage techniques
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
