Job summary

University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks a Landscape Assistant to maintain high-quality campus landscapes, perform planting and upkeep, and assist with renovations. You will operate and maintain landscape equipment and support snow/ice removal as needed, requiring physical stamina and the ability to work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications include a horticulture-related degree or coursework, 2+ years grounds keeping experience, and a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• Experience in landscape or grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, planting, weeding, pruning, or general landscape upkeep.
• Ability to operate landscape tools and equipment.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
• CDL license preferred for driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-quality landscape in assigned areas, including planting and maintenance.
• Remove snow and ice from steps, sidewalks, ramps, drives, etc.
• Plant, weed, fertilize, and pest control tasks on lawns, shrubs, trees.
• Operate and maintain equipment, tools, and machinery.
• Assist with landscape maintenance, renovations, and repairs.
• Mow lawns and prune trees and shrubs.
• Inspect and monitor areas to meet deadlines.
• Maintain records, forms, and work orders.
