Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking an Area Manager to lead a branch’s landscape management and enhancement sales, oversee production, and drive customer satisfaction. You will develop field supervisors and ensure branch goals are met while collaborating with other area managers to support company objectives.

You will manage recruitment, monitor costs, schedule crews, and maintain branch equipment and facilities, while promoting safety and quality across projects and contracts.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience managing others on the production level
• Knowledge of landscape machinery and trucks
• Two+ years of experience in sales and customer service
• Ability to take site measurements and estimate maintenance jobs
• Two+ years of experience running more than one project
• Experience selling enhancement-type work and doing contract maintenance takeoffs
• Ability to design small landscape projects
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license with clean record (past 3 years)
• Two- or four-year horticultural or related degree with industry experience

Responsibilities

• Communicate branch philosophies, policies, and procedures to field managers
• Set annual and long-term goals, monitor progress, and conduct evaluations
• Develop field managers’ strengths and career goals
• Maintain ongoing recruitment for production needs
• Understand hourly costs and monitor job costs and budgets
• Prepare seasonal job packages for assigned jobs
• Review contract documents, margins, and customer contacts with field managers
• Monitor service quality via site visits and inspections; maintain renewal rate >90%
• Manage sales activity related to contract renewals
• Schedule weekly production activities for crews
• Monitor AM/PM routines of crews
• Maintain branch facilities and equipment reflecting company image
• Prospect for leads and add to the branch prospecting system
