Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is offering an internship to kick-start your landscape architecture career with real-world land-development projects in the Southeast. You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from seasoned mentors, and grow within a Best Place to Work.

The role emphasizes site planning, design development, and collaboration with project teams. You’ll support drafting, rendering, and client presentations using AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite while balancing academic commitments.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
• Interest in landscape architecture, site design, and community development projects.
• Strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and contribute in a team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in landscape architecture plans and drawings for residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects.
• Support site planning, landscape design, planting plans, and hardscape layout development.
• Assist with rendering, graphics, and presentations for client and public meetings.
• Collaborate with project managers, landscape architects, planners, and design teams on daily tasks.
• Support drafting using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design software.
• Participate in site visits, field observations, and project documentation.
• Assist with project organization to support scope, schedule, and quality goals.

What you'll do:

• Assist in the preparation of landscape architecture plans and design documents for residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects

What you bring:

Schedule:

On-site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m. (Schedule may be flexible based on academic commitments.)
