Job summary

HKM seeks a Landscape Architect to join our boutique design team in guiding projects from vision to implementation. You will work on land planning, site design and landscape architecture, collaborating with architects and engineers to create unified outdoor spaces.

We value strong communication, zoning analysis and topographic understanding, with 5–10 years of professional office experience. Degree in Planning or Landscape Architecture is required, with licensure status preferred.

• Ability to conceptualize site layouts and outdoor spaces of varying scale.
• Understand site topography, grades and vehicular access.
• Analyze zoning and code regulations for project feasibility.
• 5–10 years of professional office experience.

HKM is seeking a unique individual to join our boutique design team and assist with land planning, site design and Landscape Architecture. We are looking for a motivated individual to work together with our team in guiding projects from early visioning through implementation.

About HKM

HKM was founded by architects and landscape architects with a design philosophy focused on the integration of site and building in creating successful, unified people spaces. We are based in the suburbs of Chicago (Arlington Heights), with an additional office in upstate South Carolina (Greer) providing full Architectural, Land Planning, Landscape Architecture and Interior Architectural services.

We are seeking a candidate with:

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to conceptualize, including site layout and the design of functional outdoor spaces, both large and small scale
• Understand site topography, grades and vehicular access
• Analyze zoning and code regulations
• 5 – 10 years of professional office experience
• Degree in Planning or Landscape Architecture
• Accredited or Licensed professional, or pursuing such
• Proficient in AutoCAD
• Working knowledge of SketchUp
