Job summary

HOK in New York is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our Planning practice in Midtown NYC. The role involves leading a full range of projects across all phases and construction administration, with opportunities to mentor staff and manage client relationships.

The position requires a professional license, a bachelor’s (or equivalent) in landscape architecture or architecture, a master’s degree may be required, and LEED credential within 12 months.

HOK's New York office is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our growing Planning practice. This individual works on and leads a full range of assignments in the delivery of all project phases and construction administration, and may scope work and develop project approach and work plans for support projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designs, reviews and guides planning projects, supporting internal team members and consultants.
• Designs and manages landscape architecture projects.
• Develops, modifies and reviews drawings for landscape architecture projects.
• Demonstrates creative thinking abilities and contributes to Firmwide design excellence and problem solving.
• Incorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
• Demonstrates understanding of the relationship between design and constructability.
• Participates in managing client relationship.
• Assures HOK document standards are met and archives documents appropriately.
• Assists in preparation of proposals; participates in interviews and public presentations.
• Understands intra-company agreements, contracts and deliverables and assures HOK standards for project management are met.
• May mentor and direct the work of staff.
• Proactively engages staff and provides opportunities for development.
• Actively promotes collaborative and innovative culture.
• Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or architecture plus 10 years’ experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required. Master’s degree in landscape architecture or urban design may also be required.
• Registration with current license required.
• LEED credential required within 12 months of employment.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location. The reasonably expected range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.

This is a hybrid position that requires employees to come into our Midtown NYC office 3 days a week. Any applicants residing outside the NYC metropolitan area must be willing and able to cover the costs to move to the NYC metropolitan area should they be offered and accept the position.
