We're looking to add an experienced Landscape Architect to the team in our Evansville, IN, office. We are looking for someone excited about the possibilities ahead as we grow. Hafer's team of architects, engineers, planners and interior designers thrives on working together to create holistic designs for our workplace, education, community and healthcare clients.

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:
  1. Coordinate with architects, project managers, and engineers to understand the parameters of a project and develop a creative design per the Hafer Way process
  2. Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures
  3. Prepare cost estimates of landscape design
  4. Prepare graphic representations of plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software. Knowledge of Revit is a plus
  5. Prepare construction documents including site plans and specifications for bidding purposes
  6. Provide master planning and direction for complex design work for current or expansion development
  7. Review and ensure all plans meet applicable code requirements
  8. Coordinate and plan planting projects
  9. Select appropriate landscaping materials and knowledge of plants, and materials that are sustainable and appropriate for the area specified
  10. Analyze environmental reports on land conditions, such as drainage and energy usage
  11. Perform site observations during construction to document landscape project progress to ensure that it adheres to plans
  12. Administer knowledge of master planning activities
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned
  14. Seek new work through marketing activities or by giving presentations
Requirements:
  1. Professional and positive attitude
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, a Master of Landscape Architecture is preferred
  3. 7+ years of relevant experience in landscape architecture and design including construction-related experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered
  4. Knowledge of the principles and practices of landscape architecture and design including construction, technical design, and construction techniques; knowledge of applicable building codes, planning, and American Disabilities Act requirements.
  5. Knowledge of site analysis, layout, grading and drainage, irrigation, traffic and parking, building, and landscaping including specifications, designs, and cost estimates
  6. Licensure is not required but preferred
  7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and citizens
  8. Ability to organize and carry out higher-level landscape design projects and programs
  9. Ability to present results in oral, written, and design drawing formats
  10. Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  11. Excels at problem-solving, has analytical skills, and seeks to improve their skills
  12. Is self-motivated and can work on multiple projects at one time
  13. Can work as part of a team without direct daily supervision
  14. Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED/WELL AP (desired, but not required)
  15. Willingness to learn new processes and explore new concepts
  16. An understanding that your opportunities are as limitless as your imagination
