Job summary

A well-established multidisciplinary engineering and design firm in New Jersey is seeking a Licensed Landscape Architect to join and grow its Landscape Design team. You will own a range of land development projects and collaborate with civil, planning, surveying and traffic teams.

The role emphasizes leadership on projects from concept to permitting and construction, with responsibilities in site planning, planting, grading, hardscape, and documentation, plus mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed Landscape Architect (RLA/LLA) required.
• 5+ years of landscape architecture or land development experience.
• Strong site planning, planting, grading, hardscape and construction documentation.
• Knowledge of zoning, permitting, and land development approvals.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong project management and client-facing skills.
• Experience with SketchUp/3D visualization is beneficial.
• Experience with irrigation design and municipal presentations is beneficial.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a diverse range of land development projects while collaborating closely with civil engineering, planning, surveying, and traffic teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead landscape and site design projects from concept through permitting and construction.
• Develop site, planting and hardscape plans, grading concepts, and construction documentation.
• Manage projects, schedules, clients, consultants, and reviewing agencies.
• Support zoning and land development approvals, including municipal presentations.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of the Landscape Architecture practice.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated site solutions.

Requirements

• Licensed Landscape Architect (RLA/LLA).
• 5+ years of landscape architecture and/or land development experience.
• Strong site planning, planting, grading, hardscape, and construction documentation experience.
