Office Location: Milford, OH 45150

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: President / Owner

The Opportunity
  • W3Global's client is seeking a motivated, self-directed Landscape Architect to join their team and take ownership of residential landscape design projects from initial concept through project completion.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and highly organized professional who enjoys seeing their designs come to life. The Landscape Architect will work closely with the Owner, clients, Production Manager, Project Managers, Foremen, and field crews to develop outdoor spaces that are beautiful, functional, constructible, and aligned with the client's vision and budget.
  • This position serves as a critical bridge between design and field operations-transforming creative concepts into detailed plans while supporting the team throughout project execution.
  • The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, manage multiple projects, communicate confidently with clients and field personnel, and keep projects moving forward without requiring constant direction.
What You'll Do
DESIGN & CLIENT RELATIONS:
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients, prospects, vendors, subcontractors, and business partners.
  • Meet directly with clients to understand their goals, preferences, lifestyle needs, budgets, and expectations.

  • Translate concepts into detailed CAD plans, layout drawings, planting plans, construction details, and project documentation.
  • Prepare project proposals, presentations, and supporting design documentation.
  • Clearly communicate design intent, specifications, scope, and project expectations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and proofread design deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Balance creativity and design excellence with constructability, budget, schedule, and client expectations.
Project Planning & Coordination
  • Work directly with the Owner to prioritize projects, establish timelines, and meet design and proposal deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager, Project Managers, Foremen, and field crews to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
  • Interpret plans, specifications, and contract requirements for clients, administrative personnel, and field teams.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress and provide design support throughout construction.
  • Help identify and resolve design or construction challenges before they impact project schedules or budgets.
  • Participate in project planning and strategy meetings.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Research plants, products, materials, and construction methods to support innovative and cost-effective designs.
  • Gather technical specifications, product information, and manufacturer data for projects and presentations.
  • Maintain organized project files, drawings, revisions, photographs, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Support the team in evaluating design alternatives based on cost, availability, constructability, and overall project value.
Field Collaboration
  • This role is not limited to the office. Successful projects require close collaboration with the people building the work.
  • Conduct site visits to gather measurements, evaluate existing conditions, and support project development.
  • Coordinate with Production Managers, Foremen, and field crews regarding design questions and construction challenges.
  • Visit active job sites to observe progress and help ensure the design is being implemented as intended.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel to support efficient project execution.
  • Identify field conditions that may require design modifications or additional coordination.
