Job summary

Dekker is hiring experienced landscape architects. Job description

Dekker is hiring experienced landscape architects. This position offers the opportunity to lead the production of a wide variety of landscape projects across many types of practice areas including Healthcare, Multifamily Housing, Federal Government, Commercial, and/or Education (K-12 & Higher Ed), as well as Parks and other Recreation Facilities. As passionate and self-driven team members at Dekker, candidates would play a key role in creating inspired experiences for everyone they interact with backed by support of a firm that has been a staple in the industry for 60 years.

Responsibilities

• Collaboratively engages in project work with responsibilities as assigned.
• Plans and develops landscape and site design aspects of assigned projects, including investigation, evaluation, technical aspects, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet the client’s needs.
• Provides consultation and team collaboration in the planning, design, and coordination of projects.
• Independently applies advanced concepts and designs.
• Carries out and delegates workflows and task assignments to project teams to meet project requirements.
• Mentors and provides technical guidance to less experienced design team members.
• Identifies and communicates project progress, accomplishments, challenges, and support needed to complete responsibilities.

Qualifications

• This is a hybrid work environment with 3 days onsite required. Applicants must live in the Albuquerque, NM metro area.

• Active board licensure or progress towards this is required.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or equivalent.
• 3+ years of post-graduate, full time, landscape/site design experience.
• Design-specific credentials are highly valued: SITES AP or LEED AP is a plus, but not required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management and project management skills.
• Extremely proficient with computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, and Land F/X, Revit is a plus.
• Proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and consultation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects ranging in complexity.
• Ability to translate client ideas into visual and/or tangible options with photos, sketches, drawings or models.
• General or advanced understanding of irrigation design, construction management, and business development efforts are a plus.
