Job summary

Athens Services is seeking an Operations Supervisor – Landfill in Landers, CA to oversee daily landfill operations, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and lead site staff. The role partners with the Landfill Superintendent on projects to improve production, efficiency, and safety.

Responsibilities include monitoring operations, training personnel, and achieving throughput goals while controlling costs and maintaining environmental performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressively responsible landfill or post-collection operations experience, including leading employees.
• Advanced working knowledge of landfill operations including unloading, compaction, and equipment background.
• High School Diploma or GED; Valid Class A license.
• SWANA MOLO certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and basic reading of engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily landfill operations and ensure safety and production targets.
• Lead hiring, reviews, promotions, and disciplinary actions for site staff.
• Input daily information, review paperwork, inspections, and timesheets.
• Coordinate with maintenance for equipment readiness and uptime.
• Drive continuous improvement to maximize production while maintaining safety.
