Job summary

WM (Waste Management) is seeking a laborer for landfill operations in Indiana. The role involves direct site tasks, traffic direction at peak times, and material handling with manual tools and a vacuum/tractor system.

Qualifications

• Safety sensitive role with potential drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Performs various tasks in a landfill, including containing loose refuse to prevent scattering and directing traffic at the landfill.
• Operates a mobile vacuum to gather loose paper and refuse, and drives a tractor pulling the vacuum along the landfill perimeter.
• Directs traffic at the landfill entrance during high activity periods using verbal communication or hand signals.
• Lifts construction materials and uses hand tools for site maintenance and related tasks.
• Manually separates metal, white goods, lumber and cardboard from trash on the tipping floor.

Education

Licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.
