Opportunity Overview

We invite you to apply as a full-time (40 hours/week) Heavy Equipment Operator I in our Landfill Division. The role involves operating various heavy equipment to support Public Works and Utilities, and performing minor repairs.

Work Schedule & Compensation

Projected Pay Range: $20.20 - $25.25/hour, dependent on qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain various heavy and light equipment, perform road and infrastructure repairs, construction, and landscaping tasks.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls, work on-call during inclement weather and holidays.
• Complete reports and work orders, set up traffic control for construction sites.
• Assist other departments as needed, adhere to safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum three years of heavy or light equipment operation experience
• Valid Class B CDL license; Class A preferred
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Ability to perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Exposure to various environmental conditions and hazards, performing heavy physical work regularly.
