Polk County is seeking a Landfill Grounds Foreman to lead field operations at the Polk County Landfill in Winter Haven, FL. The role oversees crews, ensures timely completion of tasks, and enforces safety and environmental compliance.

The position requires a minimum of five years’ grounds maintenance experience with supervisory responsibilities, a valid Florida driver’s license, and completion of supervisory and safety training programs. On-site work with varied schedules is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years in grounds maintenance or related work with some supervisory experience.
• Must complete basic supervisory and safety training programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise environmental compliance workers and county participants.
• Oversee grounds upkeep, install/repair fences, and ensure safety and quality.
• Train staff on equipment use and safety procedures; operate and direct tools for grounds and landfill work.
