Job summary

The City of Denton, TX is seeking a maintenance worker to keep the landfill site clean and compliant with local, state, and federal rules. You will assist in lawn care, operate light to medium equipment, and report issues to supervision.

Ideal candidates have basic field services experience, can communicate effectively, and are able to lift up to 60 pounds while working in varied weather conditions. Valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with one year of field services landscape experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to perform lifting up to 60 pounds.
• Experience with litter collection, landscape maintenance and equipment upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Collect windblown litter daily and maintain site compliance with standards.
• Paint, mow, trim shrubs/trees, and perform general maintenance on equipment.
• Spot vehicles and manage traffic flow at landfill working areas.
• Operate light to medium equipment and perform routine pre/post checks.
• Complete daily logs and communicate service issues to supervisor.
