This role covers zoning analysis, development rights transactions, and advisory work on the Zoning resolution. You will handle rezonings, special permits, landmark matters, and collaborate with senior attorneys for high-profile projects for developers, property owners, and institutional clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in private practice or government relevant to land use or zoning.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and New York bar admission.
• Strong communication, analytical, and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex zoning and land use matters for NYC clients.
• Handle discretionary land use approvals, including rezonings and special permits.
• Manage landmark matters before NYC Planning Commission.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on critical transactions.

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Land Use and Zoning Attorney in New York City to join a market-leading boutique law firm specializing in all aspects of Real Estate

This Zoning Attorney in New York City role offers exposure to complex, high-value matters representing developers, property owners, institutional clients and investors in some of New York City's most significant development projects

The practices work involves zoning analysis, due diligence, development rights transactions, as well as ongoing advisory work on the Zoning resolution and related regulations.

The Role:

• Advising on complex Zoning and land use matters for an NYC client base
• Handling discretionary land use approvals, including rezonings, special permits
• Managing landmark matters before the New York City Planning commision
• Working closely with senior attorneys on business-critical transactions
• Acting for a high-quality client base including developers, investors and landlords

The Candidate:

• Qualified attorney with 3+ of private practice or government experience
• Strong background in land use and zoning matters specifically in NYC
• Experience conducting zoning due diligence and preparing zoning analyses
• Commercially astute with strong technical and analytical ability
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build client relationships
• J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in New York
• Highly organized with strong time-management capabilities
• Able to work independently within a collaborative, specialist team
