Job summary

Pasco County is seeking a Code Compliance Officer to investigate and enforce land development codes and environmental standards. You will determine compliance for residential to industrial zones and investigate complaints while maintaining thorough case files.

The role involves inspecting facilities, issuing notices or citations, and presenting information to courts and boards. Requires effective communication, basic PC skills, and the ability to work independently in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in criminal justice or high school diploma with two years’ code enforcement/land use experience.
• Florida driver’s license required; ability to obtain FACe Level I certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and enforce Pasco County Land Development Codes and codified ordinances.
• Determine compliance with codes for land uses across residential, professional, commercial and industrial zones.
• Inspect sand mines and construction/demolition debris disposal facilities.
• Locate and investigate complaints and enforce codes pertaining to land use and environmental violations.
• Prepare and present information to courts, commissions and boards.
• Maintain documentation and case files including photographs; collect evidence as required.
