Job summary

Teksky LLC in Wisconsin seeks an experienced Project Surveyor to lead and support land surveying projects from planning through completion. This role supervises field and technical staff, reviews survey work products, and coordinates office and field activities to deliver safe, accurate, on-schedule results within budget.

Responsibilities include ALTA surveys, Final Plats, parcel maps, and legal descriptions, plus geodetic calculations, data analysis, CAD review, and map preparation.

Qualifications

• Must have strong project management skills for large land survey projects.
• Solid knowledge of survey calculations, terminology and deliverables.
• Experience supervising field surveyors and technicians.
• Familiarity with WisDOT and agency CAD standards and deliverables.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with budgets and schedules.

• Review project requirements and develop survey plans with the Survey Party Chief to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate field teams and ensure staff have equipment and resources needed to work safely and efficiently.
• Perform and review geodetic calculations and survey measurements to verify data accuracy and quality.
• Establish survey methods, procedures, and project standards.
• Direct and assist staff with ALTA Surveys, Final Plats, Parcel Maps, Records of Surveys, exhibits, and legal descriptions.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to meet deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Prepare and maintain survey sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Survey Department Head.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Surveyor to lead and support land surveying projects from planning through completion. This position will supervise field and technical staff, review survey work products, coordinate office and field activities, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately, on schedule, and within budget. The Project Surveyor I will also perform survey research, calculations, data analysis, CAD review, and preparation of topographic maps, plats, exhibits, and legal descriptions in accordance with applicable local, state, federal, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project requirements and develop survey plans with the Survey Party Chief to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate field teams and ensure staff have the equipment, materials, and resources needed to work safely and efficiently.
• Perform and review geodetic calculations and survey measurements to verify data accuracy and quality.
• Establish appropriate survey methods, procedures, and project standards.
• Direct and assist technical staff with ALTA Surveys, Final Plats, Parcel Maps, Records of Surveys, exhibits, and legal descriptions.
• Develop and maintain project schedules to meet deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.
• Prepare and maintain survey sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Survey Department Head.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience managing large land survey projects.
• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred.
• Experience supervising field surveyors and technicians.
• Strong understanding of survey calculations, principles, terminology, and deliverables.
• Experience with survey processing software such as Trimble Business Center (TBC).
• Knowledge of applicable surveying regulations, laws, and boundary resolution.
• Familiarity with local government agency standards, including WisDOT and other agency CAD standards and deliverables.
• Strong project management skills, including managing deliverables, budgets, schedules, and quality.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
