We are seeking a Land Technician to support land surveying, right-of-way, and land documentation activities for utility infrastructure projects. This position combines office and field responsibilities, including survey data collection, map preparation, title research, property documentation, and permit processing.
The ideal candidate will possess a Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification, experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and strong communication skills. This is a hybrid role based in Concord, CA, with occasional field visits and office attendance as required.

Key Qualifications
Required
- Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) Certification
- Minimum 2 years of education or experience in Civil Engineering, Survey Technology, Land Surveying, or related field
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for surveying or civil engineering projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid California Driver's License
- Ability to perform field survey work and work outdoors as needed
Preferred
- Utility industry experience
- Right-of-way and land title research experience
- Knowledge of boundary determination and legal descriptions
- Experience preparing easement, permit, and land acquisition documents
Responsibilities
Surveying & Field Operations
- Perform routine land surveying activities as part of a survey crew
- Collect precise survey measurements using conventional and modern surveying equipment
- Interpret legal property descriptions and boundary information
- Research, analyze, validate, and adjust survey data
- Conduct title research and compile documentation for boundary determinations
- Operate survey vehicles as required
Mapping & Drafting
- Prepare maps and exhibits using field notes, survey data, and title information
- Develop drawings supporting land acquisition, rights-of-way, condemnation proceedings, leases, and permitting activities
- Create plan and profile drawings, road cross-sections, contour maps, and topographic exhibits
- Review and verify mathematical computations and survey calculations
Land Rights & Documentation
- Assist with rights-of-way, easement acquisition, and land management activities
- Prepare legal descriptions and routine land documents
- Process permits, quitclaims, easements, and related forms
- Secure signatures and permits from property owners and agencies
- Conduct property inspections and preliminary encroachment investigations
- Prepare clear reports, correspondence, and supporting documentation
