Job summary

LaneStaffing, Inc. is seeking a field surveying technician in Houston, TX to perform construction staking, topographic and boundary surveys, and assist surveyors with layouts and measurements. This role requires hands-on equipment handling and readiness for on-site duties.

Candidate should be capable of operating Trimble GPS equipment, reading survey levels, and maintaining survey gear. Flexibility for weekends and extended hours is expected, with potential heavy lifting.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and clean MVR.
• Math and surveying technical skills.
• Background check and drug testing.
• Dependable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Daily maintenance and preparation of surveying equipment and vehicle.
• Stock survey fleet truck with supplies and maintain inventory.
• Assist Surveyor with layout and measurements.
• Operate survey equipment; experience with Trimble GPS equipment.
• Support overall crew activities on site.
• Read a survey grade level and take level notes.
• Take drawing sketches and perform basic calculations.
• Upload/download data to/from a data collector regularly.

Construction, & Surveying firm looking to expand our company. Technical knowledge and Hands on experience working and performing construction staking, topographic surveying, control surveys and boundary surveys.

Responsibilities include:

• The daily maintenance and preparation of surveying equipment and vehicle


• Stock survey fleet truck with supplies and maintain inventory


• Provide assistance to Surveyor in regard to layout and measurements


• Operate survey equipment and experience with Trimble Robotic and GPS Survey equipment


• Support overall crew activities


• Working knowledge of surveying equipment


• Read a survey grade level


• Take level notes and drawing sketches


• Perform basic calculations


• Upload/download data to/from a data collector on a regular basis
