Job summary

Thomas & Hutton in Greenville, SC, is hiring an entry-level survey crew member to support boundary, topographic, and construction staking activities. You'll work with a two- to three-person team, operate field equipment, and collect critical data to support engineering and construction projects.

• Prior experience working in an outdoor environment preferred.
• Previous land surveying experience preferred.
• Experience with Carlson SurvCE, robotic total stations, and Trimble GPS equipment a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required (this position requires driving).
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform strenuous physical activity in a wide range of temperatures and outdoor work environments
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to climb hills and walk long distances across varied terrain
• Ability to traverse wooded areas, construction sites, and undeveloped land
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work in environments that may contain venomous snakes and insects such as ticks, red bugs, wasps, bees, hornets, and yellow jackets

Schedule:

A regular schedule of Monday–Thursday 6:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., plus overtime as needed
