Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an LMR Technician II to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems onsite at a customer location. The role emphasizes hands-on work with LMR base stations, repeaters, mobile radios, and related equipment.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, with a SECRET clearance and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair telecommunications systems.
• Test circuits/equipment/alarms to verify services and identify issues.
• Utilize LMR shop experience for operations and maintenance.
• Respond to emergency system failures on short notice.
• Install, modify, troubleshoot and repair telecommunication gear and cabling.

HOW A LAND MOBILE RADIO (LMR) TECHNICIAN II WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Performs installation, maintenance and repair of telecommunications systems.
• Will verify services by testing circuits/equipment/alarms & identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
• Leverage LMR shop operations & management experience from a large-scale LMR shop.
• Will respond to emergency calls in the event of a system failure.
• Will install, remove, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, & repair telecommunication equipment, to include running/pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays.
• Apply hands-on experience in maintenance/troubleshooting of Motorola & other LMR Equipment

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Required Experience: 1+ years of related experience
• Required Technical Skills: Must be qualified to install LMR base stations, repeaters and mobile radios.
• Security Clearance Level: SECRET
• Location: On Customer Site
• US Citizenship Required - Clearance
