Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing documents to ensure lots are bought on time and within budget.
• Coordinate amenity requirements and entrance construction.
• Assist in resolving Construction Manager concerns for relevant lots.
• Update land development budgets as needed.
• Monitor lot development for quality and timeliness.
• Coordinate deal terms and preliminary budgets with Land Acquisition Manager.
• Assist in preparing lot listing/fence/lot fit plans with Construction Manager.
• Inspect finished lots for completion before turnover to Construction Department.
• Coordinate with consultants to ensure lot fit matrix accuracy.
• Complete lot acceptance checklists prior to closing on lots.

Position Summary

Smith Douglas Homes is excited to offer an 8-week Summer Internship Program designed to give college students hands-on experience in land acquisition. This immersive program allows interns to work directly with Land Development Managers in developing and monitoring the land development progress of acquired land for the local market.

What You’ll Do

• Work with Land Development Manager on document review to ensure that lots are bought on time, within budget and to company standards
• Help to coordinate amenity requirements and entrance construction
• Help to resolve Construction Manager concerns related to relevant lots
• Update land development budget as needed
• Monitor lot development process for quality and timeliness
• Coordinate with Land Acquisition Manager regarding requested deal terms and preliminary budgets
• Work with Land Team to prepare lot listing/fence/lot fit plan with Construction Manager
• Assist in Inspecting finished lots for completion to turn over to Construction Department
• As needed, communicate with consultants to ensure accuracy of lot fit matrix
• Inspect phase for completion and coordinate resolution
• Complete lot acceptance check list prior to closing on lots

Education

We’re looking for students currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Land Management or related field with an interest in residential construction.
