Job summary

OWN, Inc. is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead land development and site civil projects in the Kansas City area. You’ll own design efforts from concept through construction documents and guide projects through municipal approvals.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of land development experience, a PE license (or plan to obtain), and strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills. You’ll mentor junior engineers, maintain client relationships, and contribute to a culture of ownership and accountability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of land development or site civil experience
• PE license (or ability to obtain one in Kansas or Missouri within [X months])
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program
• Strong working knowledge of site design, grading, drainage, and utility design
• Experience taking projects through municipal review and permitting in the Kansas City area
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
• A sense of ownership: you care about the work, your team, and your clients

Responsibilities

• Lead site design for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater
• Own construction documents from first sketch to final set
• Guide projects through permitting and municipal approvals
• Support projects during construction and solve issues as they come up in the field
• Mentor and review the work of engineers earlier in their careers
• Build relationships with clients who come back to work with us again

What We're Looking For:
