Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  1. Design and prepare deliverables for multiple land development projects simultaneously, ensuring successful completion within defined timelines and budgets.
  2. Utilize strong organizational and scheduling skills to effectively track project progress and deliverables, providing regular updates to project stakeholders.
  3. Communicate and collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  4. Prepare and review engineering plans, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
  5. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information and ensure project compliance with local regulations and standards.
  6. Coordinate with internal and external teams to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for project execution.
  7. Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
  8. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
  9. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in engineering techniques and technologies.
  10. Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for future collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • Strong proficiency in using Civil 3D and AutoCAD software.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in site civil engineering, preferably with commercial development projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering plans, reports, and documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and design standards.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; graduate-level work is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-9 years of professional experience.
  • Pre-employment drug screening is required; background and motor vehicle checks may be required based on the position.

Performance Expectations

  • Submit and ensure timely approval of annual Employee Performance Appraisals.
  • Train backup personnel to support your role during absence.
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures.
  • Ensure projects meet ISO compliance requirements.
  • Manage work routines of assigned staff and delegate tasks as required.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Achieve or exceed individual utilization targets (75%-80%).
  • Attend regular project team meetings.
  • Track and report task performance results.
  • Complete tasks on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants.
  • Operate within specified budget parameters.
  • Prepare interpractice agreements and outside requests as needed.
  • Provide technical oversight for projects and staff.
  • Serve as task manager on selected projects.
  • Compare field data to base plans.
  • Conduct site visits, gather data, and document findings.
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Develop preliminary designs for approval.
  • Interpret technical documents relevant to the role.
  • Review and approve shop drawings.
  • Complete annual training programs.
