Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking a Development Coordinator to support the Land Operations team from our San Ramon office. You will handle day-to-day project administration, contracts, permitting, bidding, and financial tracking, coordinating with managers, contractors, municipalities, and internal teams.

This role requires strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Travel to project sites may be required as projects proceed.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in land development, residential construction, or related field.
  • Degree or background in business, engineering, urban planning, or construction preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with land development software is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with land development contracts, amendments, and change orders.
  • Track contract documents, budgets, approvals, and revisions.
  • Review invoices and support payment processing; liaise with vendors.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Support bidding processes, RFQs, IFBs, and bid tabulations.
  • Maintain project records including plans, permits, and reports.
  • Track project costs, monthly cost reports, and cash flow.
  • Assist with final project turnover documentation with municipalities and builders.

Development Coordinator – Land Operations
OVERVIEW

The Development Coordinator supports the Land Development team with day-to-day project administration, contracts, construction coordination, permitting, bidding, and financial tracking.

This role works closely with Development Managers, contractors, consultants, municipalities, utility providers, homebuilders, HOAs, and internal teams to help keep land development projects organized and moving forward.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Support the preparation and administration of land development contracts, amendments, and change orders.
  • Track contract documents, budgets, approvals, and revisions while keeping project records organized.
  • Review invoices, assist with payment processing, and work with vendors and Accounting to resolve billing issues.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Assist with construction bidding and procurement, including RFQs, IFBs, bid tracking, and bid tabulations.
  • Support public and special district bidding processes and prepare documentation for project reimbursements.
  • Coordinate construction change notices and assist with processing change orders.
  • Support engineering, planning, civil, landscape, and utility design coordination and approvals.
  • Maintain project records including plans, permits, approvals, reports, and other development documentation.
  • Coordinate with municipalities, engineers, consultants, and builders to distribute plans, resolve questions, and obtain required permits.
  • Track project costs, monthly job cost reports, cash flow updates, and reimbursement activity.
  • Assist Development Managers with reimbursement and conveyance documentation.
  • Support budgeting, scheduling, estimating, and annual business planning activities.
  • Research historical project costs to assist with budgeting and cost tracking.
  • Assist with land record tracking, builder closings, and residential product data.
  • Support field teams with land construction activities, permit requirements, project turnover, and final acceptance.
  • Coordinate final project turnover documentation with municipalities, builders, and HOAs.
  • Assist with property deed documentation and tracking.
  • Maintain digital plan rooms and project files, including access to platforms such as SharePoint, OneDrive, and Egnyte.
  • Track construction and environmental permits, including dust permits and SWPPP documentation.
  • Coordinate with development teams, municipalities, utilities, HOAs, USPS, and planning/architecture consultants on utility meters, mailboxes, lot layouts, and product mapping.
  • Assist with special projects and other land development initiatives as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in land development, residential construction, homebuilding, purchasing, or a related field.
  • Degree or professional background in business, engineering, urban planning, construction, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify errors and inconsistencies.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to quickly learn new project management and land development software.
  • Strong problem-solving and developing decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to project sites and other locations.
LOCATION

This position is based in the San Ramon office and requires regular collaboration with the local Land Development team.
