Position Overview
The Land Development Coordinator manages early-stage project development for commercial and utility-scale renewable energy projects. This role serves as the central link between landowners, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), engineering teams, and construction managers. You will steer project site due diligence, secure all applicable project approvals, represent the company in public forums and project reviews, and drive early-stage project development milestones. The ideal candidate navigates complex local, state, and federal regulations to transform raw land into construction-ready clean energy sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Feasibility & Due Diligence: Validate land entitlements and project viability by screening ordinances & regulations and analyzing Land & Site Surveys, Assessments, and Reports.
- Project Permitting: Identify and own permitting deliverables and secure necessary approvals through final recording of project plans with AHJs.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for Landowners, Engineers, Project Managers, Project Support Staff, and AHJs in Land Development matters. The ideal candidate will confidently coordinate with Project Managers to hold third parties accountable for timely, accurate, on-budget deliverables.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and resolve obstacles to on-time and on-budget project deliverables including title defects, easement conflicts, environmental constraints, and regulatory constraints.
- Project Representation: Present project plans to AHJs and engage community members to secure local buy-in.
- Continuous Improvement: Practice innovation, adaptability, and creative problem-solving to keep projects and internal programs on track as regulations, requirements, or needs evolve.
- Comfortable with Future Workplace Transitions: You are able to work from our Paradise office and are willing to transition to our new office location in Mount Joy when it opens in late 2027.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Land Development, or Utility-Scale Solar
- Deep understanding of Federal and State land, environmental, and civil policies and regulations
- Demonstrated proficiency with GIS / Mapping platforms and Project Management software
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting project plans before AHJs
- Ability to travel up-to 50% and across state lines for site visits, AHJ reviews, and plan recordings
- Working Location - may be worth discussing
Preferred Qualifications
- Land Development or Civil Infrastructure experience in PA, NY, OH, VA, and/or MD.
- Ability to comprehend Geotechnical, Hydrological, Phase I Environmental, and other studies.
- General understanding of the PJM Interconnection region and utility land use matters.
- Supervisory or formal stakeholder coordination experience.
