Job summary

VHB is seeking a Land Development Civil Designer to join our Tampa, FL team and help shape cities, neighborhoods, and campuses. You will work alongside senior engineers on diverse projects, gaining hands‑on experience in site design, infrastructure planning, and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with project managers, planners, and other engineers to develop innovative and cost‑effective solutions, prepare reports and drawings, and contribute to design discussions while delivering high‑quality

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
3-5+ years engineering experience (co-ops/internships counted) beneficial.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and related design software expected.
EIT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparation of site development plans, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
Conduct field investigations and data gathering to support project designs.
Collaborate with project managers, planners, and engineers to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions.
Prepare reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
